 Telmisartan : An Overview

Introduction: It is used to treat high blood pressure. It is an Angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It dilates blood vessels.




Telmisartan Dosage:  It is found in 10mg, 20mg, 40mg, 80 mg concentrations in tablet form in the market. This medication should only be taken in presence of Doctor's Prescription.




How to take :  It is taken by Oral Route (po) along with a glass of water.

Side Effects :  If taken without prescription or without monitoring the BP, it may result in further reduction of the Blood Pressure which can be life threatening as well tha'ts why it should always be taken in Supervision.

Drug Interaction : Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker. Both drugs work by different mechanism to reduce the Blood Pressure.Doctors often prescribe these drugs together when the BP cannot be controlled easily. So these drugs can be used together.



Temisartan and Hydrochlorthiazide : Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and Hydrochlorthiazide is a Diureti. Both collaboratively works to reduce Blood Presssure.
